Australian cricketer Phil Hughes has died after being hit in the head by a cricket ball a few days ago, really shocking way to go. I know cricket balls are pretty hard and I know people have received injuries from blows on certain parts of their body but you still wouldn't expect it to kill anyone. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/30219440

The problem are the laws that dictate reasonable force by police officers. Neither were ever going to be indicted... The article states it was what seemed to be a prohibited chokehold. From my understanding of the laws in NYC regarding those seemingly resisting arrest is that you can use "reasonable force" to detain said resistor. I think a chokehold is reasonable. I think keeping the chokehold on even while the perpetrator was on the ground was unreasonable. We've got to make it perfectly clear what an officer can and cannot do. None of this ambiguity that currently plagues police penal codes.
