If Pep doesn't come then the only one who would fit our profile would be Pochittino. PL experience, trys to play attractive football, seems to be respected by his players and has been relatively successful at each club he's managed but as I've said before, if he did come and was successful it wouldn't be too long before Madrid came a knocking. I agree with Dave. If Mou were to come he'd already be here. Wouldn't fancy Simeone to be honest. He has been successful but on the whole it really is anti football he plays. He would of been fantastic as Wimbledon manager years ago. Chelski would probably suit him down to the ground. I'd like to know the talented managers out there you're talking about Dave. The 2 who would (probably )have been absolutely perfect for us were Klopp and Pep. One is now plotting against us and the other could well follow. Still think we could do a lot worse than Giggs. What do people think about managers in the ilk of Koeman, Bilic, De Boar or mark hughes?

Didn't get a real chance at City and has been successful most of the time. Really has transformed Stoke from a long ball, physical side into a side who play some good football. Just think the link with City ruined any chance he had of managing here. Koeman isn't a bad shout either. I'm still with Giggs and I think when push comes to shove he will be the one who gets the job as well.

If they (Glazers) have come round to the idea of stability and longevity over continuous short-termism, then Giggs is a shoe in, with Fergie behind him.
But it's the Glazers / Woodward you're dealing with. You could end up with Pochettino and Kane, or you could get Mou and the status quo. You could even continue with LvG.

If we were sold on Mourinho he'd already be here That's probably true. I don't know about Pochettino, it could very well be the case of Van Gaal or Giggs. On the other hand Pellegrini would be available...

If it's longevity we're after, then Giggs, for now, is the wrong choice. I always thought of Giggs as the best ever Man U player, but that doesn't automatically make him a good manager. With Pep in the blue half of the city, we need a more solid coach upon whom we should build up for Giggs to become THE long-term manager. Hiring him now will be a very grave mistake. Any failure, and his bridge would be burnt so fast, that there is no way back. Love him or hate him, we need Jose to get the team going, te reinstall us as the best team. Then, only then would Giggs excel.

It wouldn't be just Giggs though. Be Giggs with Ferguson, big difference. Add Muelenstein and Phelan as coach and No2 and you've got an entirely different beast.

I keep mentioning getting Carlos Queiros back into the backroom, he knows the club, the league and is going nowhere with Iran.

Yep, don't know whether he's still active in football but that could be another option.

I wouldn't mind him supporting Giggs until he is ready.

The club need to make some decisions on where they want to go, DOF and all that etc. which we'll need before a manager if that is the case. I'm just saying that we have options, there is more out there than Mourinho that have been recently successful/managed big clubs like Blanc, Allegri, Conte, Simeone or even De Boer. We could also take a gamble on someone like Pochettino who would probably be my pick at the minute in terms of style etc. I think he's only going to get better and will eventually be snapped up by a big club. The romantic in me would love to see Giggs but again if they thought he was ready why isn't he in now, I just don't think we are sold on either Jose or Giggs so are waiting with someone else in mind.
