He was like a headless chicken yesterday, running around whilst having no real impact. I hope he gets it right, that header was as good a header you'll see all season and was pure instinct, the sort of instinct you're referring to. Needs to let RVP be the link up guy of the front 2, he's much better at holding up the ball, Falcao was dropping deep far too much yesterday.
Anyway, on the whole I'll put Yesterday's performance down to fatigue, even Pochettino said Spurs were the fitter team. It was clear to see as we went from dominating the first half to completely fading in the second. We should have been 3/4 up by half time but at the end of the game I was thankful to hang on for a point.

You only have to look at the number of points Spurs have already rescued late to see that they're a very fit side this season. Whereas despite only playing once a week we've had a habit of playing well for an hour before fading, so it was always to be expected yesterday, which makes it even more baffling that he'd go unchanged. I know there weren't that many options but the pace of Wilson could've done some damage as Tottenham's defence was very slow.
We move on though, a point wasn't too bad a result, and when some fuckwit TV boss makes you play at 12 o'clock it was never going to be a classic. I doubt the game at Stoke will be much better either.

Yeah the 12pm kick off was a joke, obviously it was the same for Spurs but it makes for a poor game of football, less than 48 hours since our last game. No coincidence that the first game of the day finished 0-0 and the last 3-2.

To be fair I don't think our kick off time had a lot to do with it. It was just woeful finishing. VGs philosophy is becoming clearer game after game. Whether he plays it because of injuries or because that's the way he wants us to play I don't know. The first half we were brilliant. Attacking at speed and then running back and defending as a team. Mata was an example when he chased back 80 yards and should of conceded a penalty. When they had the ball all our attackers where in our own half. There's no way the players could of kept that up for 90 minutes. We basically didn't have a CM, with Carrick playing deep and Rooney playing too far forward meaning once again our best players were doing things not natural to them. Hopefully now that Rafa and Shaw are fit we will revert to a back 4, meaning we will have 2 sitting in the middle, meaning our forwards won't be fucked after 60 minutes because of all the running back they have to do, meaning we can keep up the pace for 90 minutes, meaning we won't be hanging on game after game in the closing minutes.

Pretty much agree with everything that's been said before. Not a bad result considering our second half, a terrible result considering our first. Lack of a proper bench cost us too, but hopefully Van Gaal will ease Rafael and Shaw in against Stoke and we'll soon see a back four. We could have really used Fellaini yesterday too...

Does Ashley Young go back to the bench against Stoke he has arguably been our best player in our last three matches and if not and we are playing the back four where does he play. It was an interesting game yesterday that we should have won in the first half as y'all have said above.
