He looked sharp against Liverpool, I even thought he might get some first team minutes, but with us chasing 4th spot it will be difficult so a loan is a good option

Great strike. Hope he stays injury free next season and establishes a place amongst the first team squad. Always liked him.

I wonder what sort of player LVG see's Jesse as. He can play quite a few positions if i recall correctly

Didn't he start him on the right wing before his injury last season.

His best position is probably as a number 10 but he can provide cover all over the attacking end of the pitch.

I really rate him and think he could go on to another level. Shame he was another late developer like Welbeck, undersized, but if you look at him now for England he's filled out a lot this year, Southgate mentioned this yesterday. I don't think any of them know his true and best position yet, not bad considering he's 23
He's got many a useful quality if he can gel in a settled system. Kid's got a fearless biting tackle to go with it too.

With a bit of work I think there's a Benzema-type No.9 in there.
His short passing game and link up play is very good and his finishing is arguably his strongest attribute. He's quick enough but doesn't really have the genuine pace to be a wide man and I don't really see him as a killer pass playing No.10.
He's a weird case, one of those very good footballers who don't really fit into conventional systems, he'd be brilliant at futsal or 6-a-side. Van Gaal obviously likes him giving him his first start in his first game and then a new 3 year contract.

I don't even know what's happening anymore, with Young saying a couple days ago he wants to stay too, and now Lingard...
