Also Malcom from Barca looks to be available, we made a mistake not buying him from Bourdeaux and he'd fit our squad nicely (Malcom on one wing, Martial on the other), probably would cost about 35-40 mill, could be a bargain of a signing.

I agree we should move on. Apparently Leicester have upped their price to 90m. It really wouldn't surprise me if they knock us back and sell him to city for 80m. The logic behind that is they now see us as a direct rival and wouldn't want to strengthen us. Wouldn't like to see Umtiti here. He's a good player but his injury/knee problems are too big a risk. We've already got too many injury prone CBs. Skriniar wouldn't be a bad option although he did get roasted by us, In particular James in our preseason game. OK it was preseason so probably can't read too much into that. If Maquire doesn't come I can't see us being in for any other CB which won't do our season any favours.

No it won't, unless Axel does a McT and shines brightly from start to season end - and that's a tough ask by any standards. The whole point of Maguire is he's premier league proven.
It all depends on how badly he wants the move and what waves he's prepared to make. From what I've read the contract he signed with Leicester is utter wank with nothing stipulated or working in his favour regarding buy out clause, top six teams coming in for him, his agent never stipulated strong preferences, etc, etc. All he has is a verbal agreement with the previous owner apparently. His agent should have been shot out of a canon from what I read.

Apparently Jim White on talkSHIT has just confirmed that United have made a take it or leave it offer of 80m.

It is strange he's not agitating a move. He's on about 90k a week and if he comes to us he will at least double his wage. Doesn't matter where we are as a club now. We will always be a lot bigger club than Leicester. He's 26 should be nows the time for the step up. Went on to leicesters forum to see what they are saying about it all and was surprised that many didn't rate him as highly as I thought they would but they're happy enough with him staying just to get one over on us. Consensus is if he plays tomorrow against Atlanta he isn't going anywhere. Makes sense I suppose. They also said his agent is a staunch United supporter which might count for something.

Apparently Jim White on talkSHIT has just confirmed that United have made a take it or leave it offer of 80m. Should of done that a month ago instead of Ed trying to be smarter than everyone else which at this standard of negotiations he's so far out of his league it's criminal. His method of working has to change. We can't keep wasting so much time on one player then when we reach deadline day and the player doesn't come, it's either too late to sign someone else or we panic buy. What's so hard about asking a club how much they want for a certain player and if its way outside what our valuation is then forget about him. Thanks to Ed we'll always be paying a 20% Man utd tax anyway.

Leicester should be taking 80 mill and running cause he's worth about half of that in truth. Would not be sad if we were forced to look elsewhere, but the window is running out and we have bugger all to show for it besides AWB (James is like 2-3 years away from being ready to make a real impact).

Castles chats an unbelievable amount of bollocks.
It is a strange one with Bruno Fernandes though, available all summer with Sporting doing all they can to try and shift him and still no takers so far.

It's his current contract, it's bizarrely fucked. Offer the realise clause and it costs Sporting 5m, which goes to the player, to turn it down. Therefore Sporting tell you to fuck off and they're going to keep the player. So if you really wanted him, you lose out. They reckon a bid of around 55m should be enough for him, which is not unreasonable for a player of that quality.
It's why our fuckwits haven't offered the low balling release clause as a first offer. They've been scouting him for a while, quite a few clubs have.

I don't understand his release clause. If its 35m euros and we offered 40m with sporting turning us down then supposedly Bruno pockets 5m. If we came in with a better offer of 45m and sporting turns it down again does Bruno get another 5m? I thought a release clause was just that. If a buying club is willing to pay it whoever the player is and the player is happy enough with it then surely he should be out the door??

Maguire left of of Leicester’s squad, he’s ours guys Wonder if a deals been made or he's going on strike? It's well documented that Maquire has an agreement with the club stating if a decent offer came in for him then he could leave. If 70/80m isn't a decent enough offer then I don't know what is. Leicester not being very intelligent trying to piss everyone off.

I never understood it even after it was repeated to me several times and I still had more questions. If we came in with a better offer of 45m and sporting turns it down again does Bruno get another 5m? Yep, except you've just cost them the first 5m needlessly so they won't do business with you again. Next club calling gets the message, understands the situation, verbally agrees to the price Sporting wants and then puts the correct bid in. I thought a release clause was just that. If a buying club is willing to pay it whoever the player is and the player is happy enough with it then surely he should be out the door?? Obviosuly not a standard release clause gig, tha's for sure. I'm wondering if 3rd party owners are involved ala Tevez and all that bullshit?? I dunno I phased out and went bog-eyed. Obviously Ed and the parasites don't like it as it means they can't play the low ball game.
