No, I liked the look of Broadchurch but never bothered watching it. They all look so depressing and boring.

Just wondering, what are your thoughts on Game of Thrones book/series spoiler - Please refrain from reading this unless you are Miguel 1) Mance Ryder ... is he dead in the series? Will they bring him back?In the book, he's not. It seems like Stannis will be sending the Onion knight to rescue Sansa (Arya, Jeanne Poole) instead of Mance.
2) Lady Stoneheart ... will she return? Rumors circulating around mentioning her being dead in the series and will never return
3) The Hound ... Arya left him for dead. Is he really dead in the book?
4) Will Greyworm and Barristan Selmy return? The latter got stabbed in the chest. Don't think he can survive that. Maybe Jorah will take his place instead. Spoilers for the show and the books. Unless you've watched the leaked episodes and read all the books, avoid at all costs. 1) He didn't die in the book. Someone else was glamored to look like Mance as he burned. But he was captured by Ramsay (according to the letter) and presumably killed. Of course, we don't really know that he is dead in the books but let's imagine he is. Then I think he will be dead in the series as well. But if he's alive in the book and has a larger role to play later on, then I think he will be alive in the show as well. However, I think the former is true. And there will be no Jeyne Poole. Sansa will be the one who will be put in that storyline. I hope we get the Wyman Manderly story although I think it will get cut too.
2) Seeing that Brienne has gone alone to chase Sansa now, I can't see Lady Stoneheart being in the show. It'll be cut out for sure.
3) I like the Hound = Gravedigger theory. But he'll be dead in the tv series unless he still has a role to play in Winds of Winter
4) I think they'll both be alive. There's no other Unsullied character that can replace greyworm since they're all basically nobodies to the audience. As for Barristan, I believe he'll have some chapters in the Winds of Winter so he probably still has a plotline to work with. So I don't think he's dead in the show either.
On another note:
1) I'm just disappointed that Arianna and Quentyn seem to have been cut out.
2) I'm actually excited that Sansa will be replacing Jeyne.
3) I think the show ruined Ellaria Sand for me.
4) I'm glad show viewers will start to see Danaerys for what she really is - a simple girl who got her power far too easily and will be overwhelmed by the politics of the real world.

Yup. Rattleshirt or something but do you think he's still critical/a vital part in this series? I think he's gone for good. As mentioned, Davos Seaworth will be taking his place in rescuing Sansa. Great observation by the way. I didn't think Sansa would have taken Jeyne Poole's role. By the way, what happened to Sansa in the book? Where is she at the moment? Brienne is looking for her together with Podrick right? Not sure who's Wyman Manderly..
2) Seeing that Brienne has gone alone to chase Sansa now, I can't see Lady Stoneheart being in the show. It'll be cut out for sure.
Hopefully it's not true. Would love to see a zombified version of Cat Stark. By the way, if she won't be appearing, this means Beric Dondorian will still be alive. What will he be doing then? I really enjoy BWB. It's like Robin Hood and his merry men. In the book, are they just following lady stoneheart orders seeking vengeance and have no preference / loyalty to anyone? i.e Stannis , Tommen , Dany or Greyjoy ?
3) I like the Hound = Gravedigger theory. But he'll be dead in the tv series unless he still has a role to play in Winds of Winter
Is he dead in the book? (Doesn't really matter if it spoils for me or not as I have read too many spoilers already. Gone too far for me to come back.)
Yea. I doubt they will just kill off 2 prominent characters. Barristan still have a major role to play imo.
On another note:
1) I'm just disappointed that Arianna and Quentyn seem to have been cut out.
Not sure who they are ... will read more about them.
2) I'm actually excited that Sansa will be replacing Jeyne.
Why is that?
3) I think the show ruined Ellaria Sand for me.
How did you imagine her to be? I think the sand snakes and her will make the series more interesting. Not sure what will happen to them though.
4) I'm glad show viewers will start to see Danaerys for what she really is - a simple girl who got her power far too easily and will be overwhelmed by the politics of the real world.
Yup. She's actually my favourite character at the moment besides Tyrion. Not sure why she's getting so much hate .
On another note, what do you think will happen with Bran and the Children of the forrest ? Will they together with the Night's Watch and the Wildlings be fighting another different battle with the whitewalkers and undead while Dany, Stannis , Tommen and Greyjoy be fighting for the Iron Throne? Or do you think they will sort out their differences for a while to battle the whitewalkers and their minions?

I think he's done in the tv show. It did seem like Mance when he refused to kneel in front of Stannis. In the books, Sansa is still undercover in the Vale with Littlefinger. He plans to marry her to someone and then reclaim Winterfell. Only plans though.
2) Hopefully it's not true. Would love to see a zombified version of Cat Stark. By the way, if she won't be appearing, this means Beric Dondorian will still be alive. What will he be doing then? Sorry, but there's no way we'll see Lady Stoneheart. In fact, I think Beric and the BWB will be abandoned by the show for now. And yes, the BWB just follow Stoneheart, take revenge for her, and kill raiders for the good of the realm.
3) Is he dead in the book? (Doesn't really matter if it spoils for me or not as I have read too many spoilers already. Gone too far for me to come back.)
We don't know if he's dead in the book, but it is hinted that he may be the gravedigger.
4) Yea. I doubt they will just kill off 2 prominent characters. Barristan still have a major role to play imo.
On another note:
1) I'm just disappointed that Arianna and Quentyn seem to have been cut out.
Not sure who they are ... will read more about them.
Have you read all the books? Arianna is the daughter of Doran and Quentyn is Doran's son. Doran sends Quentyn to Daenerys hoping to form an alliance, only for it to end quite horribly.
2) I'm actually excited that Sansa will be replacing Jeyne.
Why is that?
Because I was not invested in Jeyne. I didn't care for her at all and having Sansa in that role will make things more tense and perhaps tragic in my opinion.
3) I think the show ruined Ellaria Sand for me.
How did you imagine her to be? I think the sand snakes and her will make the series more interesting. Not sure what will happen to them though.
In the books, Ellaria is the peaceful diplomat. She was present when Oberyn said to Cersie and Tywin that they didn't hurt little girls in Dorne. And yet, after Oberyns death, show Ellaria wants to hurt Myrcella Lannister as vengeance. In the books, Ellaria was peaceful, trying to stop Arianna and the Sand Snakes from doing anything stupid. And Arianna didn't want to hurt Myrcella. They actually wanted to make her take the Iron Thrones. The show made Ellaria despicable and just like Cersei.
4) I'm glad show viewers will start to see Danaerys for what she really is - a simple girl who got her power far too easily and will be overwhelmed by the politics of the real world.
Yup. She's actually my favourite character at the moment besides Tyrion. Not sure why she's getting so much hate .
To be fair, most of my hate for her comes from the books rather than the show. I see her as a girl who feels entitled. She thinks about the Starks, Baratheons, and Lannisters and wishes death and revenge against them. To be fair, she has no idea how terrible the Mad King was since her brother Viserys brainwashed her. However, I still cannot stand the entitlement. I liked her up until she started taking action in Slaver's Bay. I admire that she seems committed to ending slavery, but she was naive in thinking that there wouldn't be consequences. And now, she's stuck. Wasn't her original plan to go to Westeros? What's the point of conquering Slaver's Bay if once she leaves, it will go back to the norm?
She's just immature, making dumb decisions at every turn. How could she trust Daario? and then go on to marry Hizdahr zo Loraq? talk about looking short term. The way she treated Quentyn also angered me. The Dornish will surely hate her now and end up supporting Aegon which means Daenerys will have no friends in Westeros.
Bran's story will be cut from the tv series this season. I don't really know where that storyline is going. I think the battles will be 1) Stannis vs Bolton 2) Tommen vs Dorne 3) Dany vs everyone in Slaver's Bay 4) Greyjoy.... don't know really 5) and there's no way they'll sort out their differences.

great info and discussion. I will reserve my thoughts and opinions after the 5th episode. Might get back to you on some of the things you have mentioned. By the way, Gotham had a solid episode tonight. The riddler making his first kill and who is Barbara turning into? Harley Quinn?
