Yup, still a decent show. Depends on the type of humor you have, if you're looking for fart joke, haha type of show this is probably not the one for you.

Finally got around to watching True Detective season 2. Got 2 more episodes to watch. Have to say it's not even close to being as good as the first, it's actually quite average. Alright story, wooden acting and unbelievable relationships between characters. The best part of the whole show is Rachel McAdams, for more than one reason.

Yeah I wished I hadn't bothered. Really disappointing. They should rename the 2nd season so it doesn't have any links to the first True Detective.

The second TD is truly nowhere near the first it has to be said.
FTWD for me is better so far than TWD,but I'm only four episodes in.

Oh and Ray Donovan. What a fucking show! All 3 seasons have been fantastic. Look forward to an equally as good 4th season next year.

The second TD is truly nowhere near the first it has to be said. FTWD for me is better so far than TWD,but I'm only four episodes in. I am with you on ftwd... I feel it's so much better and the acting is more realistic compared to twd. However's it's only the first season. Twd first season was pretty good as well. The pilot was outstanding. Td second season really disappointed most fans of the series after a superb first season. However it could be due to matt and woody. They are in their own class. |

The Walking Dead was superb for 2 seasons as far as I'm concerned and still very good thereafter. I've gone through all 5 seasons over the last few weeks and when you watch them one after the other like that you realise just how good the show is. Sure it goes through lulls, particularly in season 4 but the show on the whole is very good. I think you're being a little over critical of the acting as well, as I've been in the past.

True Detective season 2 being average has nothing to do with comparing it to the 1st season. It's just shit. Speaking about bad acting, Vince Vaughn as the mob boss is fucking terrible, Mcadams and Farrell are alright but still not upto scratch. The best actor in the series for me was Taylor Kitsch. The relationships between the characters aren't believable, the story is stupid and hard to follow at times and the writing is full of bullshit cliches.
I also think the show doesn't have a character for you to root for like most series have. In the first season we had Mcconaughey's character, who despite being a bit weird was very likeable and you were really rooting for him. In this one I couldn't give a shit if they killed the whole lot of them.

I felt the farm and sophia storyline/plot in season 2 was really weak. It kept dragging on and on and what do you know... she was in the barn all along. Wtf!
I am with you on your td assessment. Couldn't care less if they kill everyone and vince vaughn as the mob boss was laughable.They should cast colin farell instead. It would have been more believable

I think my only issue with the Sophia storyline in season 2 is the lack of distress from Carol and the rest of the group to be honest. A little girl has gone missing in a dark wooded area in the midst of a zombie apocalypse and they say oh well, we'll find her tomorrow. Carol should have been completely inconsolable.
True detective was just a complete write off in every aspect. I thought Mcadams was ok for the first couple of episodes but she bored me to death as the show went on.
Even the most dark and depressing shows need a character that draws you in, season 2 just didn't have it. Compare it to a show like Hannibal who managed to make the sick, cannibalistic serial killer more likeable than any of these supposed "good guys" in True Detective.

The walking dead is back tomorrow again. AOS and AHS resumed last week as well. Gotham was back 2 weeks ago. I wonder what happened to Da Vinci Demons. It has been gone for too long. Hope it isn't canceled.
