Yeah you have Sean Goss who is a Carrick style player who was deemed good enough to go on tour, yet he's nowhere near the squad tonight as well. He could've been in for Carrick or Schneid. Lingard in for Memphis who's started every game so far. Wilson in for any of them. If we're 3-0 up after 60 minutes today it's going to piss me off potentially seeing Memphis or Carrick coming off the bench instead of a youngster.

Maybe he is just shit scared of a repeat of MK Dons. No risks. Still I'd hardly describe starting Lingard as a risk, he's proven against this level of opposition anyway.

I can't see it anything other than giving this group of players another run out together. The team has done well in bits and pieces. He is seeing this as another opportunity for them to gel.

Stream was pretty bad and couldn't watch the game but delighted to see Pereira score in probably his first starting appearance. From whatever I saw Schweinsteiger was bossing the game. And Martial can't stop scoring. I hope more of the younger players are given a chance in similar fixtures.

Pretty much spot on with the analysis of what I saw as well. Was an easy game, Schweinsteiger just bossed it as I think he has done whenever he's played so far this season. Pereira looked good, very lively and a brilliantly taken free kick and when Martial got into that position there was gonna be no other outcome.
Like you I hope our other youngsters (Wilson and Lingard) get a chance to shine in the next league cup tie or maybe even earlier.

He mentions Lingard in the post match presser says he can play at 7, 10 and 11 and likes multi-functional players, which we already knew, he'll get time this season I think, but the pressure is on compared to last season.

I just feel at the minute it's only going to happen from others getting injured though. If he was genuinely in his plans he'd have at least been in the squad Yesterday. He'd have been more than capable of playing 90 mins for the U21's on Monday and then coming on for half an hour last night.
See what happens anyway, it's early in the season yet.

The streams were a bit shit but he seemed very lively and was involved a lot. Gave the ball away a few times but that's to be expected. From what I saw I thought he played well.
