Credit for the fighting spirit and for keeping City on the back foot right till the last whistle
A draw would'n't have been robbery and with 11 men it could have been different
Roll on Crystal Palace ....... and later City at home for revenge

Best performance I've seen from us against Citeh for a while, we were more than a match for them, had Smalling not been a tit it may have been different.

Progress is being made.
Started well without creating too much whilst dominating midfield in the early stages, City started to create a few chances but we were still dangerous. Smalling gets 2 of the most ridiculous yellow cards and lets his teammates down and the game changes.
City dominated from that point til about 10 minutes after the goal but for that last 25 minutes or so we were superb and despite not being tight enough on Aguero for the goal I think Mcnair once again did himself justice. In fact the centre half duo that finished looked far more comfortable and composed than the one that started the game.
Don't know why Rooney didn't shoot himself when he went on that run, Di Maria was off again today for me, 2 big games have been his 2 worst performances by a distance. Fellaini wasn't as good as his last 2 performances but was still better than he was last season.
All in all we performed with a lot of credit despite being massive underdogs after the sending off, City were very rattled in the last 15 minutes and in the end we could have nicked a point.
We once again competed with a side that just steamrolled us last season. We're getting better all the time but have to start turning these improved performances into points, starting with Crystal Palace next weekend.

Thank fuck this forum isn't spouting the 'Van Gaal out' tripe. It's an absolute disgrace over on TalkingReds.

There's people seriously calling for LVG to be sacked over there? Are they for real? If someone can't see that the performances of the team this season are progressing and are miles better than what we saw last year then there really is no hope for them.

If it wasn't for the red card this game could have gone different. But I thought we defended pretty well...for the exception of Valencia who couldn't quite find his feet and position.
Agree with Jamie, second poor game for Di Maria, especially annoying with these corners.
Saw Shaw limping a bit in the final minutes, hopefully all is well, cause we're once again left without defenders.
De Gea was superb.

Let Rooney take the corners, Di Maria's deliveries are poor not only today he always does that.

Does this forum have a like button because this post is pretty much what I was about to say word for word. City beat us 4-1 and also beat us 0-3 at Old Trafford last season. I see the improvement. It's there, but the points need to start coming in. the young defenders are definitely impressing. Smalling was incredibly stupid and I hope he get's all of LVG's wrath. The second yellow only pissed me off more than the first yellow because he got sent off. The first yellow though was beyond stupid. Totally unnecessary and I hate to use a scapegoat but he deserves to be in the position of blame.

First of all that was a great response from the players after the sending off and I don't quiet agree with you jamie when you say that Di Maria was off his game, he was definitely better than in the Chelsea game last week, we could have had two set piece goals had someone got in the end of his delieveries. McNair is going to be a good player if he keeps playing like he does and I just don't understand how our CBs keep getting injured and doing daft stuff on the field. Smalling was bad today and I am sure he will apologise to the guys but I am very proud of the way we responded, we matched City.
Next week we have to go in with a positive result into the international break, there were times in the first half where I thought we could have done with Herrera's energy and link up play.

Would also like to add that we rode our luck in terms of penalties but for me none of them were clear cut besides the first shout which was Rojo on Aguero I think. Rojo on Toure just before half time was not a penalty, Rojo clearly got the ball.

agreed. I've got no idea why the commentators were saying that Rojo didn't get the ball on that Toure challenge. It was as clear as day
