They played Brugge in the Europa League. Won 3-1 away and drew 1-1 at home. Saw a Danish league match recently that I had in an accumulator and they're very similar to the Dutch league but with less quality. Expect them to be well organised and solid at the back though.
I'm just happy it's a local tie and like I've said we don't know how we're going to be squad wise by the time this game comes round. We could have a largely fit squad + new additions which will leave our 2nd string side actually pretty strong, so we should still be beating them quite convincingly anyway, if we're still struggling with injuries just send the kids and whatever happens, happens.

FA Cup 5th round in between, if we get there.
And yes Arsenal after the 2nd leg home match.

What a banana skin for VG. For sure he'll be putting his best team available out. This team was founded in 1999 so if we do lose (something I can't imagine but you just never know) then I think the pressure on VG will just be too much and whatever plans the club have after VG will be accelerated greatly. I'd like to see us take it seriously. Hopefully we should have most of our injured players back in the new year. Less Shaw and Valencia.

I think we should take Europa League a bit more seriously, for two reasons: - We could very much win it if the squad starts playing a bit better, and it wouldn't do us much harm to win a European trophy, would it? - England have to get a few teams far in those European competition, or risk losing their 4th CL spot to Italy (I think, but correct me if I am wrong). Fortunately though, Juventus and Roma have little chance to go through, facing respectively Bayern and Real, but still, Italian teams in the EL could increase their ranking.
EL is not only about club glory this time. But also about making sure Italy do not get England's 4th spot.

We're in it, whether we like it or not, might as well go for it. As long as we don't get any additional injuries. As far as we know Van Gaal so far, a competition is a competition in his mind so I expect us to see a more or less full squad. Not that we have a second squad to play anyway
