I gotta say as much as I hated him saying shit like that when he was managing Chelsea, it's so much fun to see it from the other side

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has been voted the Premier League manager of the month award for August after winning all three of his side’s first three matches against Bournemouth, Southampton and Hull City. First of many I hope

Think we saw the absolutely worst behavior of a manager of the last three years. Blaming the ref, attaking your own players in public. Mou is going to lose the dressing room in that way very quickly. Altough the lacklustre performance against Watford would suggest he already has. United is the team that is running fewest km of all teams in the prem. We are destined to fail that way. No pressing and no speed in his way of playing. Also Fellaini and Pogba as 2 holding mids doesn't work. Fellaini only side passing and only his physical presence is not enough to play him. Pogba is wasted there.
Rooney is diffeent story, he contributed so far (even if not like in his best days) but against Watford he was abysmal. Finally time to leave him out I guess. Would love to see Carrick behind Herrera and Pogba.
I can only hope this was just a short revert back to old ways. Absolutely frustrating football full of mistakes that was. Still angry swear2-smiley

If he doesn't learn the lessons of his last job then he'll be here for one season, simples. But he was pretty articulate about the problem against Watford and I don't think he dug Shaw out at all, just answered the question directly. Not sure it's the best strategy week in, week out though.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he's giving them all enough rope. But another loss and you're cutting it fine.

I guess it very much depends on how the players react to it - if you're competitive like I assume most of our players are, a suggestion that you're not good enough would drive you crazy and you'll do everything in your power to prove the manager wrong. As long as it's done carefully and good performances are praised as well I don't see a problem with it. But like you said, it's probably not the best strategy week in, week out.

So we're already a few months in, I have to say that so far I've enjoyed Mourinho's reign, despite some of the results. He's managed to keep his mouth shut for the most of it, which was one of the reasons I disliked him, but also I'm yet to see a truly defensive game which he was accused of. The closest one we got was against Liverpool and I'm not sure we had a choice. The negatives - some of his selections were poor, I'm not sure he knows his best 11 and he still needs to find a way to get the team ticking. We lost against the main opponents, which is fine, but we also dropped points against teams that we should be winning with our reserves. I still can't get over the Chelsea loss. All in all, not the ideal start, but with the media overhyping everything as usual, it's normal to be a little disappointed when you haven't won the title in October

Getting the Headlines for all the wrong reasons !
He has enough to sort out with the team without adding to the disruptions with unguarded comments and actions. You don't win many arguments against a man with a uniform, a whistle and a clipboard do you !

Clatters was really bad that day I would have gladly decked him myself
Fergie also had his share of fines and run ins with the men in black .....I like that Jose is that passionate about us and never remains with his arse stuck in his seat

On calling players out publicly? I've decided it's not a good strategy to continually do it.
Took me a while to decide but I got there in the end.

no matter what players we sign in the summer, if we don't change tactics we are doomed to fail. Individual qualities may keep us 6th or 5th but no way we are challenging for the title the way we are playing now. We could sign neymar, messi and Ronaldo with no change of outcome unless we start playing like succesful teams do nowadays. Pressing, movement width are key. None of that is part of Mou's style.
