Other results did them both massive favours whilst they were struggling. There was still always a decent chance for them.

Yeah they were, then again, neither of them are certainties to win their last games. Basel aren't a bad side and Liverpool are pretty shit at the moment and City away to Roma, who rarely lose at home is going to be a tough game.

Except when Bayern scored 6 there last month.

Liverpool were poor yesterday, hopefully Basel could cause them some grief because they were amazing against Ludogorets and way faster and physical too.

Liverpool are poor all season. With respect to Ludogorets, they drew home and away with the minnows of the group and were lucky to draw at Anfield.

Yes, exactly. Just saw an interview with Toure saying they were happy with the draw and Lambert saying he was surprised with the way Ludogorets played

There's investment in the other clubs in their league to raise competition needed so they can progress further maybe? Certainly not a bad side, but their domestic league may hold them back?

Nah, they only rely on friendlies to measure with other European teams. Even though they're second in the league at the moment, pretty much all the clubs are bankrupt so in the long run they're not good enough opponents.

Surely there is some hope, if they had won against Liverpool on both occasions where they were unlucky they could have finished 2nd?

Yeah, they were also unlucky a bit against Real even though Real didn't put any effort into it. They're still in for the 3rd place if they get something out of the Real game and Liverpool loses to Basel

Be interesting to see if these Liverpool players can "Write their name into the clubs folklore." (as Rodgers so desperately put it) by beating Basel at home to scrape into the last 16 of the Champions League.
Alternatively it would be amusing to see them finish 3rd and be fucked by the Europa League for the rest of the season.

I read an interview he did where he said Liverpool can still win Champions league. I hope Basel smashes them 4-0 Also: Go, Ludogorets, we only need a draw against Real and Liverpool to lose

Liverpool's if they haven't got a comfortable lead by half time. I want to witness them crash out.

Fuck off, that's Ludogorets out. Down to 10 men in the 18th minute for a handball clearance from the goal line. Ronaldo with a nice penalty - so good that the keeper saluted him. Chicha just missed a brilliant chance
