Rated very highly, looks good from what I've seen and potentially very good. Hope he does well here but it could take a while for him to find his feet.

I can't really recall him from the Arsenal/Monaco games, I wouldn't say his YouTube highlights are particularly impressive but trust our scouts. Should bring much needed pace across the front, exciting talent that maybe can be the spark we are lacking at the minute. Big fee but I'll ignore that and let him get on with it, you just wonder if he was the one LVG wanted why was it left so late. Welcome to United

Yeah I'll get pissed if people start criticising the kid straight away. He'll need time, it's not his fault the club have paid such a stupid amount for him and placed a huge amount of pressure on him at the same time.
I'm just wandering is the biggest factor in him coming his youth? LVG likes a good balance of young and old. We have relatively experienced players in attack(including number 10) with Rooney, Mata, Young, Fellaini and Herrera. A bit of youthful enthusiasm might be just what we need.

strangest thing was why did we bid so much for him? was that in his release clause? were some other club interested and were offering crazy/large amount for him as well?
It's really unfair for him. If he does well, people will be saying that should be expected because he costs so much and if he fails, he will become the most expensive flop ever ... It will scar him for the rest of his footballing career. Not a good move for him imo.

Like I said..just gotta get behind him. He's very highly rated, is already in the senior French squad as well. We're not the only club who sees something in him as Barca have supposedly been snooping around him for a while.

Wouldn't go as far as Cantona. But as I've said he does have potential and can become a truly great striker. The comparison with Henri in terms of style isn't stolen, but he has a lot of work to do obviously.

It will scar him for the rest of his footballing career. Not a good move for him imo. I have been reading the initial fee was £21m and the remaining £15m will be paid in five years. We have to fork out extras based on certain clauses like 10m euros if he wins Ballon d'Or and 5m euros if he is EPL top scorer (upto three times) and 5m euros if he is the golden boy. If he reaches those heights we wouldn't mind paying the 80m euros in total. It was reported by RMC and it is on twitter too. This makes more sense then the initial £ 36m.

I read somewhere ... BBC i think that the fee will rise up to 57mil if he wins awards, etc.
We have to pay Monaco 36mil even if he quits football next season.

Yeah the add ons aren't worth mentioning at this stage, as you say if he wins the Ballon d'or he'd be well worth what we'd paid for him. The fee was always going to be paid in installments as well.

Chelsea and a few other clubs were caught napping when Monaco got knocked out, they were lining up for him but thought he'd be there till at least next Summer.

Yes it seems we stole the deal out from other teams noses basically by making a fee offer in this window which Monaco couldn't refuse. .......... Only time will tell if we really pulled a rabbit out of the hat - I truely hope so
