What's the best you've seen then? It's the best of the year so far for me, although there are a couple of major ones that I haven't seen. The Grand Budapest Hotel Nightcrawler Boyhood Gone Girl Birdman Inherent Vice The Imitation Game Whiplash Obvious Child The Guest Starred Up The Fault in our Stars Blue Ruin Under the Skin IDA Only Lovers Left Alive One of the best of the decade when we've still half a decade left of films we haven't seen is a bit audacious.

Watched The Maze Runner this weekend and really enjoyed it.
Be prepared this is not a one episode film and it opens up to the sequel(s) ........... which I would go and watch
Some really mixed love / hate reviews scoring 7.3 on IMBd
Action and suspense
I haven't read the book but will now

Interstellar to me is utterly brilliant, best film I have ever seen in a cinema. May be regarded as one of the best movies of the decade! Has anyone seen Gone Girl? Yes I've seen Gone Girl and found both lead actors very convincing Amy is the sort of girl you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy........... Rosamund Pike is amazing in this role (frighteningly so) The plot kept me on the hook all the way through - the ending was a bit of a let down as justice is not really served Won't say too much but if you watch it - you will get what I'm saying.

Maze Runner was a little too dystopian for my taste, but I can see why it would appeal to some people.
As for Gone Girl, you're right the leads were superb. One of the movies of the year without question.

Gone Girl is class, I watched The Prince and then Rampart last night, both good shows, Woody is great in the latter.

Probably a little bit late - watched Boyhood who's regarded as 2014's best. Really nice movie, but I felt like it was missing a big dramatic moment which made the story a bit monotonous

Watched Lone Survivor and enjoyed it. Obviously it's pretty hard hitting as it's a true story and for me (I'm no expert) it seemed pretty realistic. Also it's a credit to the movie that despite not knowing a whole lot of about the guys involved, it really makes you care about what happened to them.

I really enjoyed it as well especially at the very end with the photos of the real guys
