Since Klopp was top of my wish list and VG was second bottom behind Mourinho then I'd have to say yes Klopp for me epitomises everything a modern manager should have. Total respect from his players, vibrant, dynamic, plays football how it should be played, makes unknowns, builds teams and can stay successful even after selling his best players. For me VG is quickly becoming a dinosaur in the modern game. Yes he's streets ahead of someone like Moyes but that isn't much to boast about. He's trying to take a concept that's been around for a while now and integrate it into the PL and he's either too arrogant or too pig headed to see that it just isn't working. So given the choice between watching us play as if it's a training game with our players nothing more than machines and not very finely tuned ones at that because the only thing that counts for VG is possession or watching us play with purpose, speed, dynamism, intent which is the Klopp way then for me it's not even a question. I'd swap the 2 in a heartbeat even knowing that Klopp may find it more difficult here than in Germany. You did ask Jie

Except Klopp hasn't got a clue how to correct things and turn things around when they go tits up and the pressure is on - and VG has it in his locker to play all ways.
What will fascinate me is the impact it has on VG's playing style if Klopp does get it to gel quickly at anfield. His ego won't want to be out done.

I think last season proved Klopp has got what it takes to turn things round. I think last Christmas they were last in the table mainly due to selling some of their best players and being decimated by injuries and ended up finishing 6th or 7th. This season they're in second behind a very impressive Bayern so I don't think Klopp is a few seasons wonder. I agree with Rach though. I don't think Loserpool is the place for him. Us or Arsenil would be perfect for him. He's been left with a worse squad than when VG arrived here but the big question is will he be given an open cheque book like VG? If he isn't then a talented manager can only take you so far. If he can take them into the top 4 this season then I will have no doubt he has what it takes to manage at the very highest level. Even finishing in the Europa league will be seen as a success for him this season. Whatever happens I do think he will be a breath of fresh air for the PL. I welcome him with open arms but hope he fails miserably

I don't think he's a few seasons wonder, I think he's got an incomplete repertoire for a 'top flight' manager, a fancier German Brendan Rodgers - with bigger, better teeth and a Cheshire cat smile.
He proved nothing and walked away like a fanny though. The players were suitably embarrassed by there own abject demise they managed to salvage some pride toward the end nothing to do with Klopp and his adversity management skills. He watched those fuckers sink like a stone and had no clue how to get them back.
If he doesn't get an initial bounce out of them scouse twats and keep it going then he'll see them relegated.

come on he's better than rodgers. lets be honest a lot of us wanted him at united over LVG when Moyes left
not saying he is going to be a guaranteed success but he has a much better chance than most
not sure why Klopp wants to reduce himself to the liverpool job though considering Pep could leave Bayern, that seems like the job he should be taking

Perfect for Klopp, Liverpool, it's the perfect 'project' club for him to mould like he did Dortmund. If luck goes with him he could be huge and he will be a bonus for the BPL whatever. I think he would have been perfect for City too. Can't fault the scousers for getting in there early and doing the deal.

After moyes left there were only 2 managers i the world who could have stablised the club and that was LVG and Achelotti. Klopp would have taken to long 3 years I believe. So I think we got the perfect man for the job.

Coming out with a statement that he'll win the league in four years is just ridiculous.

Coming out with a statement that he'll win the league in four years is just ridiculous. Didn't LVG said something like that? 3 years I believe? It's all the same with every manager coming into a big side (underachieving side). You can't expect him to say he will try to win the league. 4 years is a realistic target for him. I don't think it's that ridiculous unless he says he will win it this year. The statement could have an adverse effect on him if he doesn't do it later but a reachable target nonetheless.

I disagree, he's the manager of Liverpool. They haven't won a league title for over 25 years. Fuck.. they've only finished in the top 5 once in the last 6 seasons. As far as I'm concerned it's like someone who manages Spurs or Everton making a similar statement. Imagine how much we'd ridicule them for saying that. I actually think he has to finish in the top 4 this season after Chelsea's appalling start, if he doesn't I don't see them even getting in the top 4 over the next 4 years.
They're a million miles away from a league title. The squad is worse than ours after Fergie left and the big difference is he doesn't have the finances to do a complete overhaul of the team like we have. We're going to continue improving and spending, City will carry on throwing money at it if they see any signs of weakness, Arsenal have stupid money to throw at it if they want to and we all know Chelsea are going to spend a bucket load over the next couple of windows to rectify their early season failings.
If he can turn Liverpool into a constant in the top 4 he deserves massive credit, nevermind winning the league.

If he can turn Liverpool into a top 4 club this season, he could get some really good players in. That could be the difference whether they win the league in 4 years time or not. We know Liverpool owners are not afraid to spend and they still have money after the Suarez and Sterling sales.
The issue with them is being inconsistent and injuries. He may not have World class players at his disposal but the players he has now are not too bad. With Sturridge in form and Benteke coming back from his injury, they have a good strike force. Lallana, Coutinho , Henderson are all pretty decent players. Only their CBs look weak. Apart from Skertel, Lovren and Sakho are not great.
Can they win the league this season? Absolutely not. Can they be a top 4 side this season? It's possible. It all depends how well they do this season and next.
That's why I said it's achievable because it's 4 years...not a year or 2. Anything can happen in 4 years. If I am a Liverpool fan,I would have given him 4 years to win us the league as well!

Yeah I'm pretty sure Brendan has already plundered Sterling/Suarez money. They've spent £150mil+ over the last few years.

So Liverpool winning a title within 4 years, West Ham making the CL within 4 years.
We better watch out
