Liverpool consolidating 5th place for years to come but accepting it because that's their level and anything above that means they've overachieved.

I dunno, things go in cycles and every dog gets their day again if you wait long enough. If Klopp can get some of that academy through and get some local spirit and unity, combined with a bit of shrewd buying and managerial know-how, they could dislodge any of the current top four favourites. If Chelsea would have exploded next season like they have done this one, I would have tipped the scousers to take a top four slot.
It certainly makes things more competitive with Klopp around and the extra cash schlepping about the BPL evens things up slightly, I don't think you'll get any dominate force doing back to back doubles for the foreseeable future.

Klopp or no Klopp, I don't see Liverpool's status of a upper-middle table team changing anytime soon, unless they change their transfer policies. Like someone above said, they have a worse squad than we did when SAF left except they don't have the money. In the last 5 years Liverpool have spent almost £100m more than Arsenal and have nothing to show for it. Not to mention most of that money went to buy average players that were sold the following year.

Klopp is definitely an interesting fellow but some make it sound like he's the second coming of Jesus. Still somewhat unproven - but hopefully he'll make the league a little bit more interesting. Mourinho is really boring me.

The team there is not good enough to challenge for titles no matter who they appoint as manager.

Tim Sherwood sacked at Villa. Kevin McDonald appointed as interim manager.

Results and performance wise it's been coming.
That said it's a shame, poor investment in the summer has cost him.

not really his fault as such, Villa are just shit, mind you he wasted his money on pretty bad signings
i think the lesson is really, unless they are really good (a guy like Digne or Kurzawa, or actual proper high end quality players), don't buy from ligue 1, it hardly ever works unless they're some world beater already like a hazard

That's the point though Spens, the decisions transfer wise weren't made by him.

That's the point though Spens, the decisions transfer wise weren't made by him. yeah he doesn't have direct control of transfers but surely he has some input mind you if you keep on getting told no, can't afford him, the third or fourth option wouldn't be that appealing anyway that structure doesn't work in football, this game may be a business but you won't have success on the pitch with that approach
