That's the reason why he wasn't active in the January transfer window...

well it is about time. villa looked destined to go down under him and for a team that is traditionally top half, and with a decent squad it must be said, that is shameful

www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-new-manager-runners-8628939Tim Sherwood - 8/11 (entertainment value will go up heaps, but he can manage, no denying that) Jurgen Klinsmann - 4/1 (leaving a national team post for a struggling club, that will not look good for the National team, but maybe it will be for their benefit, he's been whinging far too much about everything) Mark Warburton - 6/1 Gareth Southgate - 6/1 Sean Dyche - 7/1 Harry Redknapp - 10/1 (hope for villas sake they don't hire him) Neill Lennon - 12/1 (not a fan of him either) Sven Goren Erikkson - 20/1 (he's not even doing that well in the chinese super league) Lee Clark - 66/1

Questions here about where he expected the goals to come from? Great player, but manager material?

I don't know why Tim Sherwood is the first name mentioned to replace sacked managers, He has no experience in managing a Club fighting to stay ahead of the relegation places. I think its too risky to appoint him at this moment.

At Spurs last season there is no pressure to stay ahead of relegation and their CL ambitions were long gone before AVB has left. Relegation battle is different you need experienced managers to do the job, like Tony Pulis and with only 13 games still to play its too risky to appoint Tim Sherwood. May be they can appoint someone at this moment and if they stay in the PL then they can appoint him next season.
