Not really surprised by this at all... he's always seemed really quick. Marc's mentioned a few times that he's chased down fast guys and done it with relative ease.

Great news, agree with LVG, he's kicked on the latter half of this campaign. ............I wonder if Jones makes it. lol.

That's good news, he's improved a great deal of late and looks pretty solid. Hopefully he keeps it up.

Excellent performance against Arsenal, really improved this season in all aspects. Hopefully he can stay fit next season, if he can he'll be hard to shift.

Yep everyone's assuming we're getting a new central defender and pairing him with Rojo. For me Smalling's a certain starter next season at the moment.

I made that assumption also but he's been terrific of late, really proven himself and LVG handing him the captaincy shows he holds him in high regard too. As you say certain starter next season, the question is who will be his partner.

Any dominant leader who can organise a defence without breaking into a sweat. Without a Hummels and minus DDG, we'll do nothing.

Smalling and Hummels imo would form a great partnership as they complete each other really well. And they could form a long-term partnership, which is what we need.

I agree, Rojo is a good aggressive player but he also has the potential to be a little erratic. My pairing would be Smalling and Hummels (should we get Hummels of course).
Rojo is a handy player, don't get me wrong, I'd have no problem with him being a centre half pairing for any of Smalling and Hummels but I actually see him becoming serious competition for Shaw at left back as much as backup for central defence.
Even Jones has improved enough and for me has earned his right to stay at the club. I think if we go into next season with Hummels, Smalling, Rojo and Jones as our central defenders with Mcnair as the young up and comer I'd be very happy.
