It's clearly very tongue in cheek as round about the time the second season is set, in Minnesota there were loads of supposed UFO sightings. I read an article saying it was a hotbed for "sightings". It shouldn't be taken as seriously as people are taking it, clearly just the writers having a bit of fun.

fargo season 2 spoilers But the UFO played a big part in the end. If it's just the first episode, it should be alright.

Not watching it now if it has UFO's in it The UFO appears in two scenes I believe (one far more explicitly than the other). They don't pull it out of nowhere to be honest since they do give small winks throughout but I can't deny that it feels out of place, especially after watching the first season - which is normal in all ways. And it does play a small part in moving the plot along so yeah... That being said, if you ignore those two parts, the whole story will still be coherent. Those two scenes don't detract from the season because it was superb by most accounts. You'd be missing out on a good show, so I'd recommend you watch it anyways.

The Expanse seems interesting if anyone is looking for a scifi series what is it about? Extant didn't really do well Don't know too much of the plot yet since I've only seen the pilot. But to sum up what I know, it's in the future - space colonization is already a thing and asteroid mining seems to be a big industry. Water and filtered air are precious resources. Planet Earth is seemingly unified and governed under the UN. Humans in space seem to have conflicts with the humans back at Earth and Mars is implied to be a rising power. They'll probably be the main antagonists in the series. There's multiple POV's - including detectives, a ship captain(ish), a gov official, etc. The world-building is well fleshed out and there's no cheesy dialogue (it's pretty serious) so it seems like it may turn out good. Here's a trailer:

Update: The 3rd and 4th episode really set up this series. The 4th one has hooked me in - I recommend those of you who want to see a good sci-fi to watch it till episode 4. You'll know by then if it's for you.
I think it really has potential.

I will give it a try....
there's also a series on the shannara chronicles by terry brooks. It's very similar to games of thrones and lord of the rings. I love his books. Hopefully it will be great on the screens as well.

I guess if there's one complaint I have about the show, it'd be that I can't find anyone to root for just yet. Perhaps that will happen with time.
