the only solution really, he has been looking like he belongs in league 1 recently moreso than a premier league star

I find it unfair to other players who are fitter than him. I understand Van Gaal's desire to stand by his captain, wise move, but at least fake an injury to get him some extra recovery time or something

ROONEY BREAKS VAN NISTELROOY'S MAN UTD PENALTY RECORD The England captain passed the Dutchman's total in the Premier League after opening the scoring from the spot in Tuesday's clash with Newcastle United Wayne Rooney has become Manchester United's highest ever scorer from the penalty spot in the Premier League as he scored his 19th to put his side 1-0 up against Newcastle. Ruud van Nistelrooy had held the record before Rooney stepped up to slot home past Rob Elliot in Tuesday's Premier League clash at St James' Park after Mike Dean had awarded a controversial spot-kick. The United skipper has started 2016 in fine goalscoring form, with his strikeagainst Steve McClaren's side his third in three games since the start of the new year, having also found the net against Swansea and Sheffield United.

Others are saying LVG should bench him. How can LVG bench a captain like that.

Wazza Injured just depressing www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3451237/Manchester-United-captain-Wayne-Rooney-two-months-knee-ligament-injury.htmlManchester United have been dealt a hammer blow after captain Wayne Rooney was ruled out for up to two months with a knee ligament injury. News of the setback emerged after United landed in Denmark for Thursday night’s Europa League clash with FC Midtjylland without the England striker. Rooney has been in a hot streak of form in recent weeks, scoring seven goals in the last nine games, but his absence leaves United with just one senior striker in Anthony Martial. Will Keane has been added to the squad to face Midtjylland. LVG was to have announced in his press conference later ............................. seems this info was leaked before Hopefully it won't be 2 months ...... let's see what comes out

Yes would like to see Wilson back with us ...............but Martial up front and Herrera in the team seems to be realistic in the meantime ......... Shame for Wayne was on a good run wonder how he got injured ....... hope it wasn't Phil Jones in training again - press conference at 18:00 ? I think

Yeah it's the obvious move but Unless Mata fires on all cylinders now till the end of the season an in form goal scoring Wayne will be a massive loss at this stage.
