Difficult to know his best position. Hasn't earned his mega wages the last season. Hopefully with the new signings he rediscovers the form which made him one of our most influential players.

I had a dream - Wayne was Captain America fighting against the Liverpool Hydra. His shield was covered with United badge instead of stars and Stevie Me wore some funny green spandex, don't remember that part quite well, it's foggy, only I can remember is that I ran away somewhere, screaming.
Come on now, Captain Wayne Rodgers, show us what you're made of!

I only saw these reactions now. What, you two never had a wild crazy dream, wanting for it to become reality?

Anyway, van Gaal has said:
"He is happy," said Van Gaal. "Otherwise, he should come to me and say: 'I am not happy', but he never does.
"He is always friendly to me and wants to perform what I want.
"That is what I see, but, when the whole world is writing that he has to be in the striker's position, he shall be thinking ' hey' as he is human."
Is he really that happy? Last time he was moaning about it if I remember well.

He's the captain - he'll play wherever the manager tells him to. Whether he's happy or not is irrelevant

We don't know that he's unhappy... just pure conjecture.

I haven't seen any signs of him being unhappy, getting the captaincy probably boosted his ego enough to at least keep him happy for the season playing out of position. He did show last night why he needs to be starting up front though.

He'll have had it explained to him by VG, along with a lot more we're not privy to with regard to future plans, etc. It's a great footballing education for him, he's always said he was interested in other footballing cultures and methods, VG couldn't be more perfect for him atm in his career.
The idea of Total football and getting the information first hand is interesting enough and a big enough sell for any football nerd

Oh, I'm sure he'll prefer to play up front too because that's where his strength is, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he's unhappy, but even if he is, he's doing his job, otherwise Van Gaal would have removed him from there a long time ago

We don't know that he's unhappy but we also don't know that he's happy.
if van Gaal says that Rooney is happy, OK then, I just have some doubts because of the previous situation, nothing more nothing less. All I'm saying is that unhappy player underperforms and does no good to anyone, I think it's clear enough.
