I had a chance to get full marks on one of my exam papers today... I would have but for a very careless error.
It really is a pain in the neck!

No, not really. It's just that I really want to get an A* in Maths and this paper was a really easy, 40 mark, 45 minute exam, which means that it's pretty much my best chance of getting full marks in any exam. And I didn't manage to do so not because of something I didn't get, but simply because of a careless mistake! When calculating the volume of a cone, I wrote down the wrong height, but other than that all my other working was correct. It's agonising to think about that!
I still have 80% of the assessment material to go through, but this was easily the easiest out of my three Maths exams, and I am aiming to collect all the marks I can possibly get.

Try living here with the pricks we have. All they can come up with is how to squeeze more out of the working man to cover their own fuck-ups.

Can't say as I'm that arsed, my life has gone pretty well over the last 5 years. More of the same will do me nicely.

In truth my life hasn't been affected a great deal with them in power this 5 years gone, it has affected people I know though.
It's more what the future holds under a Tory government that's the most concerning. Unless you're reasonably wealthy and healthy, then the likeliness is you're going to get wealthier. NHS could be fucked, ties with Europe could become seriously damaged, if you're unemployed you're going to continue to be treated like a criminal and the likeliness is the working classes are going to be even further disadvantaged while the rich still sit on their millions.
Politics is an incredibly selfish business, you vote for the party that are going to benefit you personally or at least most people do. I don't really have a strong affinity towards any of the parties but Labour is without a doubt the one that has more to offer me and people around me.

Shouldn't that be in the Lol thread? From what I gathered from the news no one wants to play with UKIP even though they have something like 12%

They have 12% of the overall vote but that means very little when they have only won 1 out of 650 seats in parliament.
There are 650 constituencies in the UK, which is pretty much an electoral region, for example Manchester Central, Manchester Gorton and Manchester Withington are 3 separate constituencies. People who live within the borders of these constituencies vote for a person to be the MP (member of parliament) for their constituency, which they call seats.
To be the winning party outright you have to get an overall majority which is over 50% of the 650 seats (so winning 326 seats means you win the election outright). If nobody gets an overall majority they declare a hung parliament, which then enables different parties to start cutting deals with one another to take their combined number of seats over 325, which is what happened at the last election with the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats. The Conservatives only got got 306 seats leaving them 20 short, so they cut a deal to form a coalition government with the Lib Dem's who had 57 seats, taking their combined seats to 363..well over the 326 needed.
This years election is going to result in the Conservatives getting an overall majority and winning outright. With 9 results still to come in they already have 325 seats, with Labour lagging behind on 229, the SNP (Scottish national party) have 56, Lib dems have lost a huge amount of seats and are down to 8 and UKIP have just the 1 seat.
That sounds like quite a spanking for everyone else involved but when you look at the actual voting figures it's a lot closer than it would seem and shows exactly why this way of electing our prime minister is in serious need of change.
Despite only winning 1 seat UKIP have finished very high up in the rankings of various constituencies and have amassed a very handsome 3.8million votes which equates to 12% of the vote and technically makes them the 3rd most popular party in the country. Compare that to the SNP who have won 56 seats yet only have 1.4million votes.
Then you come to the 2 main parties (Conservatives and Labour). Despite the Conservatives dominating the seats with almost 100 more than Labour. They have 11.1million votes which is only 2million more than Labour on 9.2million, equating to 36% and 30.5% of the overall vote respectively. Which is a lot closer than the official results would have you believe the election was.

We need to remember that the LibDems have kept the Tories in check over the last few years. Here’s a list of extreme Tory policies stopped by the LibDems: - Inheritance tax cuts for millionaires
- Scrapping help with housing costs for young people
- Weakening arrest warrants for people who have fled overseas
- Firing workers at will, without any reasons given
- Regional pay penalising public sector workers outside London and the South East
- Privatising the motorways and key A-Roads
- The Snoopers’ Charter
- Bringing back the old O-level / CSE divide
- Profit-making in state schools
- Cutting the time childminders can give to each child
- Cutting new nursery buildings
- Stopping geography teachers telling children about how we can tackle climate change
- Axing human rights from national curriculum
- Ditching the Human Rights Act
- Watering down the ban on hunting by allowing 40 dogs to flush out a fox
- Weakening the protections in the Equalities Act
- Renewing Trident in this Parliament
- Scrapping Natural England
- Cutting investment in green energy
- Nation-wide immigration checks on all new tenants and lodgers
Not to mention that the muzzle is going to be taken off Theresa May. I'm honestly really worried about this new Government. The LibDems have taken a lot of shit recently, but we are going to seriously miss their influence.

Nothing ever changes here and never will, no-one ever learns. It's a genuine fucking nightmare, and worst case scenario, people have no idea the shit storm and unnecessary pain that's ahead.
The result suits the SNP agenda perfectly and Cameron doesn't have it in him to keep it all together, so in 4/5 years you'll likely have an independent Scotland still in Europe and a separatist England outside, with all that that entails. You'll literally be going back to the stone age and letting one side politically rewrite, the constitutional shitstorm ahead is fucking mind boggling not to mention the paralysis.
You also won't recognise the NHS by the end of this, it will be irretrievably broken up, ready for the final phase of privatisation after the next election. Education will be even less cohesive and more expensive than it is now. Clegg summed it up, politics of fear wins out again. Big congrats all round really.
I can't stomach going through all this idealogical right wing bullshit all over again. I'm actually glad I'm not invested in this country and can fuck off on a whim with no regrets.

I echo both of your sentiments. The country really have no idea what they've done, especially with them gaining the overall majority outright. I think this next 5 years will be so bad that by the time the next election is here Labour will be massive favourites to win.
