I think that software would cost a shit ton of money, especially if you're talking about a big chain that has like 100-200 stores. I'd imagine a scenario where you're after a pair of boots and you want to check the availability in store, but there's a Christmas sale going on - the whole thing would crash in seconds and leave a lot more frustrated people. But I've seen some smaller stores to have that option.
I came here to say how much I hate websites that play videos automatically. And it's not a muted video and if you want to watch it, you can unmute it, no no - you're reading an article quietly and all of a sudden a video starts playing full blast.

I agree with you Jie. Nothing bugs me more than those Pop up ads for Casinos and get rich quick by Futures Trading which interrupt Debbie does Dallas

I hate it as well. Sometimes I dont even know where the sound comes from, I usually open up a lot of tabs and its annoying to find which tab has this video and then pause it.

I'm not sure about that, they will the check the stock for you if you're in store so how hard can it be just to have that on their website, it's surely just a massive database. Some big shops do have it or have done in the past as well, they'd just rather you go to the shop and buy other stuff probably... the twats. Yep, that is annoying, then the site sometimes crashes because it's trying to play a video

Have to agree with everyone about those annoying videos.I hate them especially in YouTube where there is now a thirty second ad on everything in there before you can watch what you want to see.

Any website autoloading content on me gets binned immediately, if I 'need' to view the content then I'll block the offending video ad through adblock.
Lack of wintery weather / snow at Christmas really brings me down, totally unseasonal and shit really.

I have a bit of an experience in that area, so I can tell you that even with a giant database, a chain that has 200+ stores have no way of knowing precisely the amount of a single item in stock. The one that I've seen updates every 24h.
Imagine checking the stock availability in a store that's 20-30miles away, going there and it has sold out.
And yes, you also go there and buy a bunch of shit you don't need.
Another thing that pissed me off yesterday: went on a late Christmas shopping trip looking for a particular item. So in half of the stores I'd go through a conversation like this:
- Do you have red jerseys? - No, but we have blue pants.
At first it was annoying but the 50th shop that I went to said the same thing I imagined sinking my teeth into the girl's neck
Ed, we got a bit of snow here, but yeah not Christmasy kind of snow

Got a new laptop 6 months ago and it pisses me off that even though i'm the only one that uses it i've got to enter my password every time it's re-started, similarly when checking saved passwords i've got to enter my bloody computer password to view them, and if i'm checking more than one i've got to enter my password for each one.
There's an option to skip my Laptop password in the computer settings but it just doesn't work, thanks Windows10
Same with videos starting automatically on certain websites, it was never a problem on my old laptop

I got rid of windows 10 within a fortnight of installing it as a FREE upgrade. My laptop came preloaded with windows 7 Basic so I said sod it and restored right back to the start of time. I am going to redo it and switch off Microsoft updates allowed.
Pop up ads - I tried Adblock Plus but nothing changed except now Adblock kept telling me how many ads it had stopped bloody useless.

Make sure you get the Windows 7 security updates - marked security. Then turn turn Windows Updates off, if you don't want the rest. Really you could install the lot and just uninstall the Windows 10 nag update. If it's even still there now you have to pay for it. Then switch Windows Updates off. Adblock is obviously working if it's telling you how many ads it's blocking but if you're plagued with pop ups in Windows you might have some malware on there. When was the last time you scanned with Malwarebytes and, or SUPERAntiSpyware free versions?

Imagine checking the stock availability in a store that's 20-30miles away, going there and it has sold out. That happened! I even rang up and they claimed they had it. Turned up and nada. Twats.

That’s not why I came in here though.
Nationwide advert that does ‘Stand up’ hate it, have to mute it every time.

Imagine checking the stock availability in a store that's 20-30miles away, going there and it has sold out. That happened! I even rang up and they claimed they had it. Turned up and nada. Twats. I'll go you one better. Needed direct, next to each other, monitor resolutions comparisons. Thought, 'Ah! Big store stocks them buggers, lots of 'em too!' Went Curries/PCW online found three different monitors with different resolutions, checked if they were available at a specific (main) store, came back yes - phoned them up and got a 'yes - if it says so.' Trotted off on 25 mile round trip only to find approx 60 odd monitors in cute rows and banks all 1080p resolution, lots of different screen sizes mind. Spoke to the woman who'd obviously been drafted into the computer section as holiday cover and asked to see the models I'd earmarked, she checked the store stock computer and announced they not only weren't available in store but were not listed at all. So not only does that shit show of a retail brand lie about in-house stock availability, they falsely advertise gear they don't have, but the real kicker - they only choose to demo ALL their monitors with ONLY a 1080p resolution. Fucking choice genius!! I couldn't be annoyed with the woman she didn't even want to be there, neither did I, and I knew I was probably pissing in the wind before I even embarked..
