My word am I relieved. When I saw Jie had posted in this thread I fully expected to see just My Name, in Capital letters in her post.
But what does have me pissed off at the moment is that Britains Brexit vote has completely Fuc*ed up my wife's and my Pension payout because of the weakened currency rates. On top of that the pension is fixed at the time you reach pension age, no yearly increases because we are overseas and No Burden on their Social Grants scheme.

Spending the day and night yesterday at the hospital with my Mum, she fell in her yard doing washing and broke her femur bone, had to get round there asap, luckily I live near her and she had the sense to ring me from her mobile,(all the lectures about always bring your phone with you even to the yard paid off thankfully) an ambulance had to be called to move her, hopefully surgery today, if not it'll be tomorrow. The poor dear is all up in a heap, broke my heart to leave her in the hospital last night. She's 78 and very set in her ways, she was more upset about being in a strange bed than her leg, bless her...

Aye, it hits you a bit differently when something happens to your elderly Mother and you see the fear and pain in their eyes, makes you feel like shit. Mine had a hip replacement a while back which was an eye opener, you'd be surprised how resilient they are though! ............she's now running around again being a pain in the arse, but it's all good.

Aw that sucks, hope she's doing better now. Recovery is a pain in the ass, especially at her age

Thanks, she's just gone in there now for the surgery. I was teasing her saying that she picked a great time to do it with UTD's first game of the season on....lol. Great result though,I'll watch it later.

Red just saw this mate. You have all my best wishes in the world for your Mom's recovery. On a lighter note and in typical oomtom thinking, you say your Mom is 78 years old and I am only 70 ! Why not introduce us, I have always wanted to be a Toy-Boy ? On second thoughts that would make me your Step-Dad and well .......... I will get my People to call your Mom's People ....... maybe there is a legal loophole I can invoke ! Seriously though I will mention your Mom in my talk with the Big Guy upstairs tonight.

And you think my short term memory is bad. Glad to hear she is recovering well. Us older people do tend to bounce back quicker than expected especially the ladies they are made of stronger stuff than their male counterparts.

She got moved to a different hospital today to a convelescance unit for to begin her physiotherapy. ..all in all they are pleased with her recovery rate. Still breaks my heart to leave her there on her own... She lives on her own so when I leave after a visit she is on her own but at least in her own home....her apprehension started all over earlier with the new environment...but she realises that this move is another stage closer to going home and that's giving her renewed strength....I know that she'll be ok though because she is of the old stock and one tough Irish lady I can tell you...
