NO MOURINHO PRESS CONFERENCE

There will be no Jose Mourinho press conference today. It is more likely to take place in July when players return to training.

The Portuguese has done an interview with MUTV, which will be aired around midday today, so stay tuned!

Jose Mourinho has returned home to his house in Chelsea. He was asked by Sky Sports if he had a message for Manchester United fans...
He said he will only speak on July 7... we presume he means when he will conduct his first press conference ahead of pre-season!

Brilliant news. Big time manager for a big time club. He's the only manager in my lifetime who has an aura even close to the one that Fergie had. He's a winner and I'm sure he'll turn our side into just that.

QUESTION:
Jose, congratulations, the new Manchester United manager. How do you feel?

'I feel great, I think I’m in the right moment of my career because Manchester United is one of these clubs you need to be prepared for because it’s a giant club.
'Giant clubs must be for the best managers. I think I am ready for it so I could say I’m happy, I’m proud, I’m honoured, I’m everything, but the reality is that what I love is to work and I cannot wait for July 7 to go on the pitch.'

QUESTION:
You've won trophies everywhere, what are your ambitions for Manchester United?

'We can look at our club now in two perspectives. One perspective is the past three years, and another prospective is the club's history. I prefer to forget the last three years.
'I prefer to focus on the giant club I have in my hands now and I think what the fans are expecting me to say is that I want to win. I think what the players need to listen to is I want to win.
'And more than that I need the supporters and the players to feel that I say that, not just for the sake of saying it, but because I think we really can
'I want to focus on the history of this giant club and give what I have and what I don't have, so I will give absolutely everything to try to go in the direction we all want.'

QUESTION:
You seem to have had a good rapport with Manchester United fans when you've come back with Inter Milan, Real Madrid, with Chelsea, with charity games. What is your message to United fans?

'I know what they can give me I think also they know what I can give them. Obviously the most important thing is the players and the relationship with them.
'It’s very important and curious that I play so many times against Man United and I play so many times at Old Trafford with other clubs and was empathy, no problems and in fact I was pushed by that feeling to say things sometimes that my clubs were not happy with.
'I remember for example when I won at Old Trafford with Real Madrid, I said that the best team lost and not many people were happy at Real Madrid.'

I'm wondering if this kind of "under wraps" communication approach is for the Club to take back control of the leakages prior to the official annoucements
between team Mendes and Jaguar it has been a right mess ....

Maybe it's a case of not speaking out until a few issues (like Giggs, Carrick, etc.) are resolved ........... and then these can be communicated openly and respectfully

It was the same with Moyes and LVG, no presser until they start working. Mourinho talking about himself... yeah I think I can handle waiting for that.

LvG was at a world cup so arrived late but we got a presser with him and Woodwood together answering press questions eventually, Moyes? Who he??
