I've just listened to the UEFA statement and there's a proviso: "it could be activated (the suspension) if incidents of a similar nature, crowd disturbances, occur inside the stadia for any of the remaining Russian matches."
So there could be fucking carnage outside and little would happen as I heard it.
Too late in the day to switch WC venue I would have thought, they'll bend over backwards to make sure it won't harm 2018 I'd imagine.

This is a very Eastern European type of hooliganism, I don't think it's just Russia - you can see the same behavior with the Croatian fans the other day, but it is a regular occurrence in a Bulgarian and Serbian games too. Now I can't claims specifically about Russians, but here we have groups who are not trained, but still good fighters who are used not only to cause disruption on football games, but also on political events, elections, referendums and controversial gatherings like the pride parade (most recently). It hasn't been proven who exactly does it, but they are paid to cause troubles and fights and they are dumb enough to do it
