While the blame game continues the matter of concern is De Gea's future. As long as he is here, I wish he could get his focus back and LvG works well with him to build on his past performances. De Gea could make saves which Romero wouldn't be blamed for. I hope, everyone concerned put aside all differences and make the best use of his stay here however long that may be.

Lets hope there's something in this. New contract another 2 seasons and he'd get our blessing to go for a good fee.

We need to get him back to his best. His contribution to whatever we achieve this season will be immense. It will also give us time to find a suitable replacement or try Johnstone. And I hope LvG has very little to do with the choice of goalkeepers Apparently he didn't want Neuer at Bayern and preferred Navas over Dave.

I never wanted Manchester United to be second to anybody. Only the best would be good enough

Well he is named in our champions league squad ! I wonder what kind of reaction he will get by the crowd... If they all start chanting his name it may touch him and sway him to sign an extension , if he is booed he will be like fuck this I'm outta here in Jan or June

I wouldn't boo him. If he's playing then let him do the job we're paying him to do. I hope LVG isn't a stubborn bastard over this and throws him back in straight away.

If he plays any mins for Spain then he might but otherwise he might do his usual of having to play some time with the reserves first before he gets a go at first team. It would be great tho to throw him straight back in at OT against the scum

We need 3 keepers, the relationship with Valdes is completely broken. He simply has to stay here unless we rely on Pereira as 3rd choice. We're stifling young English talent by not playing an inexperienced goalkeeper? Alright then.

Also the loan window opens in a week or so I think so there's still chance for him to go out on loan.

I think we have the right to be selfish here and keep him, at least until we have some clarity on the goalkeeper situation.

First thing's first;
FUCK. YEAH.
But realisitcally, he's still probably going to Madrid next year. Van Gaal probably gave him the choice of signing the new contract, or sitting on the bench all year and missing the Euros. At least this way we'll get the fee we deserve for him.

Like redrick said, he might still go, but this time we have the upper hand in negotiations. The question now is whether he'll start tomorrow against Liverpool? I certainly hope so.
